Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon Video #105 Showcases Greek God of Wine and Grapes Dionysus

The official Youtube channel for Atlus Japan has shared the 105th Daily Demon video for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei V. This entry highlights Dionysus, the Greek god of several aspects of life, most iconically known for wine. He also strongly represented celebration, ecstasy, theater, and agriculture. Dionysus ultimately aimed to rid the world of stress and worry through the power of music.

Dionysus wields Maragion, Agilao, and, fittingly enough, Sexy Dance, giving him an apparent affinity for the fire element while also fitting in his history of being associated with sexuality. His first Shin Megami Tensei-related appearance was in Nocturne, while his first Persona-related appearance was in Persona 2: Innocent Sin. Dionysus would then appear in several games afterward, being a mainstay of sorts.

You can view the Shin Megami Tensei V Daily Demon video introducing Dionysus below:

Shin Megami Tensei V takes place after a murder occurs in modern-day Tokyo that blocks the game’s protagonist from walking home. The detour may have been due to fate or another force, but he finds himself buried and unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a new Tokyo, a wasteland after the apocalypse known as Da’at. He quickly finds out that he’s not alone, as demons are closing in on his location. However, a mighty being known as a Nahobino appears and saves him. With this power, the protagonist can venture through Da’at and hopefully get some answers about what happened to his former home.

Shin Megami Tensei V is releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 12, 2021.
