Immersive Sim from Ex-Arkane Devs ‘Weird West’ Delayed to March 2022

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer WolfEye Studios announced earlier today that their upcoming immersive sim, Weird West, would be delayed from January 2022 to March 2022.

Weird West is an isometric top-down action RPG with immersive sim elements weaved in from the development team’s previous experience with Dishonored and Prey. The game depicts a dark fantasy reimagining of the Wild West where cowboys and fantastical creatures share the same sky. The game weaves together themes of multiple storylines. Combat is done twin-stick style with a good amount of loot to pick up and customize your character with.

Early feedback from the closed previews of the game has been highly positive, but the team needs more time to test and polish the game. Given that it is an immersive sim, there can be many unintended outcomes. The development team wants to ensure that the game they deliver at launch will be the best experience possible and understands that this delay might disappoint some fans. They thank the community for their patience and assure that the release date isn’t that far off.

Weird West is now releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam on March 31, 2022.
