Pinocchio-Inspired Souls-Like Lies of P Shares First-look Dreary Gameplay Teaser

The Dark Souls of Pinocchio was announced earlier this year in May. Since then, the developers have been quiet with any development progress. However, today, Round 8 Studio shared the first look at gameplay for their upcoming game Lies of P. The game is said to be a souls-like action role-playing game that is inspired by the original story of Pinocchio.

In the gameplay teaser, we get a look at some gloomy streets filled with creepy doll-like creatures while a music box is playing in the background. We then hear a mysterious voice say, “Wake up, son,” as real gameplay footage of a young English boy wielding various weapons ranging from rapiers and hacksaws to flamethrowers and grapple hooks engages in real-time combat.

Fighting looks visceral and crisp, with distinct audio impact and visual cues. The trailer ends with what seems to be the protagonist breaking into a courtyard, going face to face with a gigantic boss with a cage on its back.

It is important to note that the trailer is made with Pre-Alpha footage, and the contents shown are subject to change. Additionally, lies of P is yet to have a specific release date but is expected to be done sometime in 2023.
