Persona 3 Reload Has Kept the Security Camera Scenes Within SEES’ Dormitory & Ability to Walk Koromaru

Following the latest information drop for Persona 3 Reload, Famitsu conducted an interview with General Producer Kazuhisa Wada, Director Takuya Yamaguchi, Producer Ryota Niitsuma, and Atsushi Kitajoh.

This is a lengthy interview that goes into quite a bit of detail about various facets. However, one slight tidbit that fans may have overlooked is that the security camera footage scenes from Persona 3 FES have been kept in Persona 3 Reload. For those unaware, these mostly comedic segments would be added to the computer near the top floor of the SEES dormitory, providing greater character insight.

You can view the quoted exchange below:

――Speaking of Ken, in the PS2 version, fans got a wholesome glimpse into the more innocent-side of his personality from his security camera footage in the dormitory. How about in P3R?

Yamaguchi: Yes, in P3R, we left those security cameras in the dorm for our fans to enjoy!

Additionally, the feature where players can walk Koromaru has been retained:

――In the PS2 version, you could go on a walk with Koromaru, but how about in P3R?

Yamaguchi: We’ve included that. Even in planning meetings, I made it very clear that this was absolutely necessary, haha. In this game, you can earn several types of rewards. For example, you can earn Social Link points by having conversations with characters during the walk, or you can find items along the way.

Atlus also confirmed that Persona 3 Reload will receive special teasers on “each official full moon.”

Persona 3 was initially a PlayStation 2 title that birthed the concept of Social Links that would follow in Persona 4 and Persona 5. Then, a director’s cut version named F.E.S. launched later, featuring a new playable epilogue called The Answer and added enhanced gameplay features.

Years later, Persona 3 Portable was released for the PSP, which removed The Answer and the ability to walk around town but added the option to play as a female protagonist and new post-game challenges.

Persona 3 Portable is now available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC.
