Garden Story is Blossoming into an Adorable Adventure

After attending a few gaming events, publisher Rose City Games has always had a solid lineup of titles. One of which is the Picogram-developed Garden City. After being able to check out the game during PAX East 2020, it’s easy to see that this is blossoming into a grand adventure.

To learn more about Garden City, we had the opportunity to speak with Jenny Windom of Rose City Games to learn more about the project. Garden Story is a simulation adventure RPG where players assume the role of Concord, the newly appointed village guardian. In this new role, he must assist neighbors and fight against a mysterious Rot that has plagued the island.

During gameplay, players will help the citizens who will then lend their aid to Concord as he fights his way through dungeons. This strikes a balance within the gameplay as players must decide how to spend their days.

The adorable nature of the game is paralleled with the dungeons. Players will journey through dungeons and fight against Rot. However, some rooms require light puzzle-solving to get through. Furthermore, players can also car for garden plots, which can lead to new resources to upgrade their tools.

Garden Story is coming to PC-via Steam in summer 2020.
