Square Enix Shares Official Piano Cover of “Aerith’s Theme” from Final Fantasy VII

Square Enix has uploaded a new official cover on their music YouTube channel. Ryota Kikuchi arranges and performs “Aerith’s Theme” from Final Fantasy VII on piano, initially composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Additionally, Mai Kondo recorded and mixed it.

This particular theme doesn’t necessitate any introduction, as it isn’t a stretch to call it one of the most iconic songs in the entire franchise and even gaming as a whole. While it would’ve been a bit more interesting to see a more unconventional instrument be used to arrange this soothing track, it’s still done fantastically.

You can listen to the piano cover of “Aerith’s Theme” from Final Fantasy VII below:

Final Fantasy VIIEver Crisis is an ambitious mobile entry that coalesces the compilation of Final Fantasy VII, including the original game, Crisis CoreDirge of CerberusBefore Crisis, and even Advent Children in playable forms. The gacha comprises new outfits for the cast, adding levity and spiciness to familiar events fans are abundantly knowledgeable about.

Final Fantasy VIIEver Crisis will launch for mobile devices via iOS and Android.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the sequel to the first entry in this ongoing Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy effort. Throughout the announcement trailer, players got a tease of the Nibleheim flashback with Cloud and Sephiroth and Zack carrying Cloud, seemingly from either the end of Crisis Core or the end of Remake.

The latest trailer from Summer Games Fest showcased quite a bit more, with a relatively open world, team attacks, Chocobo riding, and fascinating story developments that have truly made this entry diverge from the original game’s timeline. Still, familiar areas like Cosmo Canyon and the Chocobo Farm are also present. Oddly, Square Enix calls this a completely standalone entry, which comes off as too blatantly untrue, even for marketing purposes.
