Elden Ring Has Gone Gold; New Gameplay Footage Showcased

From Software’s community manager Yasuhiro Kitao confirmed at the 2022 Taipei Game Show that Elden Ring has gone gold, meaning the main development of the game is now complete and is ready for mass production.

Elden Ring was originally slated for release in January of this year, and it has been pushed back once to February,” stated Yasuhiro-san during the broadcast. “But please be assured, the title will be ready for sale on February 25th. The master version has already been submitted, and right now, the team is working on a day one patch, to make sure everything in the game is just so.”

Kitao also commented briefly on the length of Elden Ring. “This will differ significantly by player, but in terms of targets set during development, the idea is that the main route should be able to be completed within around 30 hours,” says Kitao. This is just for the main story, and will contain “dozens” more hours worth of gameplay, as well as new game plus cycles and branching endings.

Elden Ring will be releasing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC via Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 25, 2022. If you missed it, check out our impressions of the Elden Ring Closed Network Test here.
